Over 12,000 ASTM standards are currently in use around the world, written by over 143 technical standards-writing committees. When a new industry seeks to develop standardization, companies in that industry often come together under ASTM in order to achieve the desired result. The standards created by ASTM are designed to enhance safety and improve the quality of consumer and industrial products. ASTM D-4236 is an international labellng standard issued by ASTM International (American Society for Testing & Materials). Previously known as the American Society for Testing and Materials, ASTM International develops a range of consensus standards that are adopted and used globally across industries. These tests are performed for a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, automotive, cosmetics, food & beverage, medical devices and more. These testing methods provide an international standard by which various industries maintain regulatory commonality for quality control, contamination identification, formulation, trace analysis, investigative analysis, and more.

When McKay greets me at the door of his modest-for-Hollywood house in the leafy Hancock Park district of Los Angeles, he’s still in a T-shirt, gym shorts, and New Balance sneakers after working out with Darren, his trainer. “Hey!” he says when he lands, grabbing my arm in a Gladiator- style arm-clasp greeting. McKay comes zip-lining right at me at an incredible speed from the top of a 100-foot-tall sequoia. A 12-acre network of platforms, rooms, and even a hot tub are connected by rope swings, ladders, and tubes 80 feet off the ground. I had read about McKay’s treehouse but had no idea of just how massive and elaborate it is. “It combines a lot of my feelings over the past 10, 20, 30 years,” he says. McKay says it’s also the most personal movie he’s ever made. Two astronomers, played by DiCaprio and Lawrence, discover a world-destroying comet headed for earth and the political and media reaction to imminent doom is a hopeless farce of culture-war squabbling, narcissism, shallowness, and ignorance-in other words, pretty realistic. In a sense, that’s what McKay’s latest movie is about. It’s true that we live in an era of cultural deflation, when it’s hard for any one person, short of a would-be dictator, to claim the attention of the entire culture, which long ago fractured along internet-drawn lines. (He still sends me several fictional openers, just in case.) Later he proposes a one-on-one basketball game to see who gets to write the opener of this story, an idea the writer nixed given that Adam McKay is six feet five and a basketball fanatic. Remember when he rolled the ending credits halfway through Vice, a joke on the fairy tale version of Cheney’s story? Or when, in The Big Short, Margot Robbie breaks the fourth wall to explain mortgage-backed securities from a bubble bath? And so Adam McKay’s critique of the Vanity Fair profile is merely professional instinct. Then again, undermining the story is a very Adam McKay thing to do. With hilarious performances from the all-star cast, including Josh Leyva, Bobby Lee, Madison Iseman, Bart Baker, Timothy DeLaGhetto, and Deji Olatunji, Laid in America is an outrageous and hilarious story of two boys…becoming men.Adam McKay’s publicist might not agree with this take since Adam McKay has a $100 million Netflix movie he’s promoting, Don’t Look Up (in theaters December 10 and streaming December 24), which stars highly bankable celebrities Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Tyler Perry, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, and Jonah Hill. The boys must work together to fulfill their fantasies in time to catch their flights back home. The two best friends hatch an elaborate and desperate bid to somehow get in, which takes them on an unexpected adventure, navigating a minefield of problems from gun-wielding gangsters, to gold-digging hustlers, to deviant drug lords. To have a shot of doing that, though, they need to get invited to the class bully's big house party that night…and, sadly for them, they aren't. Duncan (KSI) and Jack (Caspar Lee) are foreign exchange students with just one night left in the United States - and one final chance to lose their virginity with the girls of their dreams (something they really, really want to do). YouTube superstars KSI and Caspar Lee make their feature film debut in this laugh-out-loud, chaotic comedy.
On SiteJabber there were just 4 user reviews of the company and it scored 2 out of 5 stars. The sole review rated the Glary Utilities PRO as excellent and claimed that it was an all in one utility application. On the popular review site Trustpilot, there was only 1 review of Glarysoft and the company earned 3.7 out of 5 stars from the sole review. To better understand how Glarysoft and Glary Utilities PRO fared in the eyes of real users who have used either this product or other products from GlarySoft, I checked Trustpilot and SiteJabber. Though my printable sheet music is offered free, it is copyrighted and not for resale. Almost all the music & exercises on this site are free This site is aimed at teachers - especially BEGINNING MUSIC TEACHERS - and I want it to become a help in your teaching. Perhaps someone in the family has asked you to give their little girl or boy lessons, and you're not sure how to get started. Perhaps YOU are a teacher looking for additional music!ĪRE YOU A FULL-TIME TEACHER, A STAY-AT-HOME PARENT making extra money by taking in pupils, or A COLLEGE STUDENT just getting started teaching? Some of them can be previewed online to gauge their suitability for your pupils. More and more, there are terrific repertoire collections and solos available. They form the backbone of my piano, violin, and guitar lessons.Īnd I buy supplemental books for my students, too. NO, I HAVEN'T THROWN OUT THE METHOD BOOKS. I want all my students to have a firm foundation of basic counting, and not be guessing when it comes to eighth notes. Plus, too many beginner guitar method books start with eighth notes, assuming students can already read music. MY GUITAR STUDENTS NEED EXTRA MATERIAL - beautiful and fun music - to get them out of their one-size-fits-all guitar method books, trying different styles of playing, and learning how chords work. I can also offer them folk and ethnic music that might be impossible to find! Guitar students weren't playing very fun stuff. With my shorter and lower versions of some classical vocal music, they can still experience the beauty of great vocal music and grow familiar with the classical repertoire, though they are young. Like the beautiful central portion of the Flower Duet. SOME OF MY VOCAL STUDENTS LOVE OPERA, but have voices much too young and undeveloped to sing the songs in the original keys. I knew he would really go to town if he could attack the Canon, scale passages and all, arranged in the key of C at an appropriate level of difficulty for him. I had one young pianist whose favorite piece was Pachelbel's Canon in D. WHY GO TO ALL THIS WORK? BECAUSE OF MY STUDENTS. Nothing could be printed at home or at my studio, unfortunately! Music notation software to the rescue!īUT TODAY, WITH A COMPUTER and great music notation software, sheet music has become a pleasure to write up. Back then, it meant writing out music laboriously by hand on staff paper, then visiting the local copy center. It wasn't exactly free sheet music then, not for me, anyway. I also began to write and arrange piano music for my students, and my own kids. I found I enjoy arranging & setting music. So, like many of you, I began an on-going odyssey in search of music books with a high percentage of interesting pieces. If only free sheet music for kids was available. Or they were ready to boogie with the 12-bar blues, but they weren't ready to read any of the blues music that I could find. Sometimes my students needed lots more practice with the same set of notes, but we had run out of music. Or there just wasn't any music to be found. Or I might find the piano song they wanted, but the arrangement turned out to be. Or perhaps the composition I wanted wasn't available in my student's level.and even if it was, I wouldn't find out in time (think Christmas) because there was - and still is - no music store within a hundred miles of my town. I needed a source for free sheet music! It can be hard to match a student with the right arrangement Sometimes I didn't want to ask parents to spend money on yet another book, when I felt pretty sure only two or three of the pieces in the collection would interest my particular student. Of course there were lots of supplemental books I could buy. Then, it was always nice to have "extra" or "fun" music to coax them along through the tough times in their piano method books. Sure, my favorite piano method books had some real gems scattered throughout the pages, but also pieces that kids would drag their way through, getting stuck in for a few weeks. The idea for my own free sheet music site started years ago, when I had trouble finding enough piano music I liked that my students and my own children liked too. Read about my own experiences and ideas, and what many other teachers have found to work in their own studios! Why this music site? but they can be a challenge to teach for a teacher who is not prepared. 'self iprintln('^3Level 55 mod by Shuffni!') '!

Actually there are very few venues that cannot be adequately secured. Where is Julian Assange when I need him? How have advances in science and technology changed the job of protecting the president? “ A lot of the challenges have remained consistent throughout the history of the Secret Service, especially as it pertains to the protective mission-the challenge of balancing the desire of the president to interact with the public, and the Secret Service making certain that wherever he does this it’s in a safe and secure environment. I need to rethink my interrogation strategy, or maybe my approach to information gathering. I would hate to call one movie out over another.” Uh oh. Some of them captured parts and some of them took maybe more license with fantasy. Some of the movies probably did a better job than others. Having said that, I did watch it through a different set of eyes-a different set of optics, if you will-so in that respect there could have been some scenes that departed a bit from realism for the sake of entertainment, as most movies do.” Meaning, your job is security and the moviemaker’s job is entertainment? “Yes, and I wouldn’t be very good at that job.” What other movies have done a particularly good job at capturing the methodology of the Secret Service? “There’ve been a lot of movies made about the Secret Service throughout the past few years, so as in any profession if a movie was made about what you do, you would be able to look at it through a different set of eyes also. As far as realism, I thought the recreation of the West Wing, East Wing, the Oval Office, even the president’s limo, I thought they did a fantastic job recreating that. With Jimmy Fallon-I mean Jamie Foxx-there was a great mix of action and humor. (My questions are in italics.) What did you think of the realism in how White House Down portrayed the Secret Service? Nelson: “I thought it was an entertaining movie and I enjoyed it. Would the secret service really relinquish on the “secret” part of its name? In the end, I learned a few things about the world of government security-just not quite what I expected. That raised some additional possibilities. Mickey Nelson, the recently retired Assistant Director of the Secret Service, offered his insights on the technology and techniques behind White House Down. So even though there’s no science-fiction premise to Emmerich’s latest movie, White House Down, I jumped at a chance to get a peek into his thought process. He always seems to be having a grand time skewering logic and ignoring the laws of physics, which strongly suggests he is in on the joke. (Credit: Columbia Pictures) Assuming it is unintentional, which is not at all clear with Emmerich. |
